Carnival Drink Packages Explained: CHEERS!, Zero Proof, and Bottomless Bubbles

Carnival sells three very different drink packages, and the priciest one is not automatically the best value. CHEERS covers alcohol and a broad nonalcoholic menu, CHEERS Zero Proof covers premium drinks without alcohol, and Bottomless Bubbles is mainly unlimited soda and select juices.

Which Carnival Drink Package Fits You?

• Choose CHEERS!: You are 21 or older, want cocktails, beer, or wine most days, and will also use specialty coffee, bottled water, and other included drinks.
• Choose CHEERS! Zero Proof: You want premium coffee, bottled water, smoothies, energy drinks, milkshakes, and crafted nonalcoholic choices without paying for alcohol.
• Choose Bottomless Bubbles: Soda and basic juice are your priorities, and you do not need bottled water, specialty coffee, or premium zero-proof drinks.
• Choose no package: You drink lightly, expect long port days, or prefer the beverages already included in the cruise fare.

That is the clean answer, but cabin rules can change the math. Carnival requires every adult age 21 or older assigned to the same stateroom to buy CHEERS when one adult buys it, even if the second person drinks much less.

On September 4, 2026, Carnival’s public drink-package page showed starting daily prices before the added service charge, while the detailed help page also warned that sailing-day price adjustments can replace advertised prices.

Compare the final cart amount, not only the large daily rate, because Carnival states that a 20% service charge is added to drink-package purchases and taxes can still appear when drinks are served in U.S. waters.

The public page displayed CHEERS starting at $69.95 per adult per day, CHEERS Zero Proof starting at $29.99 per person per day, and Bottomless Bubbles starting at $11.99 per adult or $6.95 per child per day on the check date. Treat those as a dated reference point, not a quote for your cruise.

CHEERS! Is the Full Alcohol Package

CHEERS includes spirits, cocktails, beer, and wine by the glass when the menu price is $20 or less per serving. It also includes soda, standard juices, zero-proof frozen drinks, specialty coffee and hot tea, milkshakes where offered, energy drinks, 16.9-ounce bottled water, and other listed nonalcoholic bottled beverages.

The official CHEERS terms also provide a 25% discount on wine and champagne by the bottle, beverage seminars, and qualifying spirits, cocktails, or wine by the glass priced above the package ceiling. That discount is useful, but a discounted bottle is still an extra charge.

The Rules That Matter Most

• Guests must be at least 21 to purchase CHEERS! on sailings covered by the U.S. policy.
• Every guest age 21 or older assigned to the same stateroom must purchase it.
• The package covers the full cruise, not selected days.
• One drink may be ordered at a time, with a 10-minute wait between orders.
• Sharing is prohibited, and double shots count as ordering two drinks at once.
• The program allows up to 15 alcoholic drinks from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m.

The 15-drink rule is a maximum, not a target or promise of service. Carnival can refuse alcohol to a guest who appears impaired, and once the limit is reached the guest cannot buy additional alcoholic drinks for that program day.

Buying a round does not let the package cover the group. Carnival says one drink can count toward the package while the remaining drinks go to the guest’s Sail & Sign account.

What CHEERS! Does Not Cover

Common exclusions include souvenir-glass drinks, liquor bottles, gangway beverages, room service and in-stateroom beverage programs, pitchers, buckets, floaters, sharing cocktails, private events, and food. Enomatic wine-machine pours and specified freshly squeezed juices are also outside the U.S. program described in Carnival’s current help material.

CHEERS is for onboard purchases, not drinks in ports or at destinations such as Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay, and Princess Cays. A port-heavy itinerary therefore gives you fewer useful package hours than a voyage with several sea days.

CHEERS! Zero Proof Covers More Than Soda

CHEERS Zero Proof is the premium nonalcoholic package, not a junior version of CHEERS with beer and wine removed. It includes Coca-Cola sodas, standard juices, 16-ounce still, sparkling, and coconut water, premium coffee and tea, frozen nonalcoholic drinks, smoothies, bottled protein shakes, milkshakes, and energy drinks.

Carnival’s current Zero Proof listing also includes alcohol-free beer, nonalcoholic sparkling wine, and crafted zero-proof cocktails, but marks those particular categories for guests age 21 or older. Check the current onboard menu if one specific brand or drink is central to your decision.

Zero Proof does not require everyone in the cabin to buy it. Carnival also allows Zero Proof and Bottomless Bubbles in the same stateroom, which gives families and mixed-preference groups much more flexibility.

However, adults in the same cabin cannot combine one CHEERS alcoholic package with one CHEERS Zero Proof package. If one adult buys CHEERS, the adult cabin rule still requires CHEERS for the other guests age 21 or older.

Zero Proof Restrictions

The package lasts the full cruise, cannot be shared, allows one drink at a time, and has a 10-minute interval between orders. It does not cover alcoholic beverages, souvenir-glass drinks, room service, minibars, private events, food, gangway drinks, or drinks at Carnival destinations ashore.

This plan makes the most sense for someone who will stack several premium categories in a normal day. A morning latte, bottled waters, an afternoon smoothie, a dinner zero-proof cocktail, and an evening tea create a very different calculation from two cans of soda.

Bottomless Bubbles Is the Simple Soda Plan

Bottomless Bubbles covers fountain soda and listed juices for the full cruise. The current juice list includes orange, cranberry, tomato, pineapple, and grapefruit, though flavors and availability can vary.

The official Bottomless Bubbles terms specify one 16-ounce soda or one 10-ounce juice at a time, a 10-minute wait between orders, and service only to the named package holder. The package does not include bottled water, specialty coffee, room service beverages, or other nonalcoholic drinks beyond its soda and juice list.

Bottomless Bubbles is sold at different starting rates for adults and children, with Carnival defining the child rate through age 17 on its U.S. help page. It is still a personal package, so a parent cannot buy one sticker and use it for the whole family.

Remember What the Cruise Fare Already Includes

You can cruise comfortably without any drink package. Carnival lists non-bottled water, lemonade, unsweetened iced tea, hot chocolate, and non-specialty coffee and tea among the beverages available with the fare in specified dining areas.

Those included choices are the baseline for honest break-even math. If tap water, regular coffee, and lemonade already suit you, do not assign imaginary value to bottled water and premium coffee just because a package includes them.

Carnival’s U.S. beverage policy also currently permits each guest to carry on up to 12 sealed cans or cartons of nonalcoholic drinks, each no larger than 12 ounces, on embarkation day. Guests age 21 or older may also bring one sealed 750-ml bottle of wine or champagne under the stated conditions, with possible corkage when it is served in certain venues.

How to Calculate Your Personal Break-Even Point

First, copy the final package total from your cruise planner after the service charge. If two adults must buy CHEERS, use the cabin total rather than testing the enthusiastic drinker’s package alone.

Next, sketch a realistic day using current menu prices from your ship or planner. Add the drinks you would genuinely buy without a package, then multiply by sea days and port days separately because they rarely have the same consumption pattern.

Your simple test is: expected pay-as-you-go beverage spending versus the final package total. If your estimate only wins by a few dollars, buying à la carte preserves flexibility and avoids feeling that you must order to justify a prepaid bill.

A Better Way to Estimate CHEERS!

Count coffee, soda, water, and other included nonalcoholic drinks before estimating cocktails. Then subtract the value of any included-fare beverages you would happily choose instead.

For a hypothetical example, suppose your planner shows a final cabin package total of $1,175 and your realistic à-la-carte list totals $148 per sea day and $82 per port day for both adults. On a four-sea-day, three-port-day cruise, that estimate is $838, so CHEERS would not break even despite one person enjoying several cocktails.

Those figures are deliberately illustrative, not current menu quotes. Replace every number with your sailing’s cart and menu values, then leave room for one low-consumption day.

Test Zero Proof by Categories

Zero Proof becomes easier to justify when you regularly use three or four premium categories, such as bottled water, coffee, smoothies, and crafted alcohol-free drinks. A soda-only guest should compare Bottomless Bubbles first because paying for variety you will ignore is not a bargain.

Test Bottomless Bubbles by Servings

Divide the final package total by the current price of the soda or juice you would otherwise order. That gives you the number of paid servings required to break even, but reduce your daily estimate for long shore excursions and days when included lemonade or water sounds better.

Home-Port and Itinerary Exceptions

Carnival’s U.S. help page says CHEERS cannot be sold until day two for voyages departing from Texas, New York, and Virginia home ports, with activation at 6 a.m. The guest is charged only for the remaining cruise days, while embarkation-day drinks are paid individually.

The current detailed terms also say CHEERS is not offered on two-day cruises, charter cruises, or purchases at the listed private destinations. Rules for Australia and eastbound transpacific cruises point to Carnival Australia for pricing and age restrictions, so do not apply the U.S. assumptions to those voyages.

Packages also do not follow you ashore. If Celebration Key or another destination is the center of your trip, budget that day’s drinks separately and count the reduced onboard time in your value test.

Who Should Skip a Carnival Drink Package?

• Light drinkers who are content with water, regular coffee, tea, lemonade, and occasional paid drinks
• Couples whose alcohol habits are very different and whose required two-person CHEERS! total overwhelms the likely value
• Travelers with consecutive long port days and little time aboard
• Soda drinkers who can stay within the current carry-on allowance and do not need unlimited refills
• Anyone buying mainly to avoid watching prices, but who would feel pressure to consume more

Convenience has real value, but it should be priced honestly. Decide how much a predictable bill is worth to you, then add that convenience premium consciously instead of pretending every included drink is money saved.

Buying Without Regret

Check the planner early, take a screenshot of the package terms and final cart total, and recheck before the advance-purchase cutoff. Carnival’s published terms say pre-purchased packages are refundable until 10 p.m. Eastern the evening before departure, while onboard purchases are generally nonrefundable.

Also verify who is assigned to each cabin before purchasing CHEERS. Moving guests between connected or nearby rooms solely to dodge package rules can create check-in, key-card, and sleeping-arrangement headaches that are not worth the spreadsheet victory.
