With the cold air permeating through my windows in Minnesota, I know I am ready to get away from all the hustle and bustle in the states. With careful consideration, I have determined returning to Jamaica is at the top of my list when the travel industry safely opens again. The best attractions in Jamaica offer some of the most affordable Spring Break destinations in the Caribbean.
The Blue Hole: Top Attractions in Jamaica
Sought after by nature lovers around the world, the blue hole found in Ochos Rios, Jamaica will provide an exhilarating experience.
Grab your swimsuit and come on down to this local sweet spot where a hundred guests visit a day. Experience a little thrill and adventure, while taking in the beautiful scenery surrounding you. If you are an adrenalin junky, check out the neighboring cliffs where plenty have jumped into the tropical blue hole. There is nothing better than taking in the beautiful Jamaican atmosphere in a Jamaican jungle! The river connected to the Blue Hole will relieve you from the intense sun.
Once you are done swimming in the Blue Hole be sure to check out the refreshing bar close by to hydrate yourself. The local staff is known to be super attentive and informative, so if you have any questions, do not be scared to ask away!
Martha Brae River
The next stop of our journey is right on the Martha Brae River. As one of the top things to do in Jamaica, you will enjoy navigating through the beautiful jungle on a handcrafted bamboo raft.

As you glide down the river, watch out for the natural wildlife along the shore. Further, if your captain trusts you enough, prepare to personally steer the craft. Rastafari Indigenous Village
Another amazing sight in Jamaica is the Rastafari Indigenous Village. Here you will learn about the deep history of the island’s indigenous people.
A space created to help visitors connect to Rastafari, this village will challenge the way you think. Once arriving, the generous village will offer you coconut water served in a traditional calabash bowl. Then, you will learn how the indigenous people make universal human connections and preserve/protect their Rasta culture. Later, you will get a chance to journey down the river and through the bamboo glade. If you would like, you will even be given an opportunity to meet and talk with community members of the village. They will proceed to explain their lifestyle and show you their handmade drums, soaps, jewelry, and art.
Afterward, you are allowed to purchase any of the handcrafts you would please. This informative tour can truly open your eyes to the way of the Rastafari people.
Dunn’s River Falls and Park
As probably the most popular place in Jamaica, you will not want to miss Dunn’s River Falls. This beautiful travertine waterfall offers another unique experience to enjoy in Jamaica.
Once arriving, you will notice as everyone links arms in a human chain. Then, they proceed to climb the waterfall which cascades down into an amazing water formation. A magical, fun, and exhilarating experience all in one excursion, this park will fill your daily quota for travel. Lockers are offered on-site so do not worry about storing your dry clothes and towels. Make sure to bring a waterproof camera to document this very unique experience.
After, check out the restaurant found on-site at the park. Once you are full, head into the stores either to shop for souvenirs or exit.
The Seven Mile Beach
Once riddled with pirates, this haunted seven-mile stretch of golden sand beach is now ruled by those who enjoy the sun and ocean (one of the all-time top attractions in Jamaica).
This fantastic, soft sand beach stretches as far as your eyes can see. With bright blue water washing up alongside it, I cannot think of a better way to spend the day. If you are wanting to see the complete seven miles, I would suggest catching a boat ride. Otherwise, if walking along the shore or bathing in the sun is enough for you, just make sure to bring a bunch of sunscreen! If you are lucky, you will be able to see one of Jamaica’s breathtaking sunsets on this beach.
You may notice some local folks attempting to sell you items on the beach. As their economy is heavily dependent on tourism, a lot of the citizens will sell stuff to the visitors.
Bob Marley Museum
For history buffs and music lovers alike, you will want to check out the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, Jamaica.
This world-famous reggae star’s home displays Marley’s famous guitar and plenty of other artifacts. When you arrive make sure to snap a picture with a life-size statue of Bob Marley. After purchasing tickets to get inside, you will be brought on a thorough 90-minute tour with a dedicated guide. Unlike most museums, you are allowed to touch everything with Marley’s house. The guides are well experienced and will even sing songs throughout the tour.
